Initially largely presented in his own salon at the Institute - LEONOR GREYL, founded in 1968, and in selected hair salons throughout France, LEONOR GREYL products gained a reputation through a network of some of the largest hairdressers in the country. Spreading this to their clients, French women began to swear by the brand that has been synonymous with "French hair care" for decades, eager to extend the salon experience to the home.
Thanks to the skills and practical experience of both LEONOR GREYL hairdressers at the Institute and those around the world who use LEONOR GREYL products every day in the salon, on set or with private clients, the experience of natural care "hooks" both professionals and individual clients for life.

We focus on the power of natural ingredients, driving our innovative formulas since the beginning of the brand. Some of these products are completely unique on the market, gaining almost cult followings due to their effectiveness:

Huile Germe de Blé , the first oil-based formula using wheat germ oil, which thoroughly cleanses and nourishes the scalp, foaming on contact with water;

Bain Traitant à la Propolis , the first anti-dandruff treatment for daily use that is both gentle and effective;

Masque Fleurs de Jasmin , moisturizing mask for fine hair;

TRADITION

The LEONOR GREYL brand began with a meeting of minds and hearts: Leonor, with a passion for hair care and health, met Jean-Marie, an engineer with a keen interest in botany. Together they created natural hair care products that were not available on the market at that time.

In 1968, when Leonor met her future husband, Jean-Marie, she discovered not only love, but a man with an extraordinary knowledge of plants and applied botany. Wanting to champion naturalness long before mainstream interest in “organic” or the emergence of “eco-chic” beauty brands, their joint project to create hair care products based on plant derivatives and natural active ingredients became an exchange of experiences and visions that would last a lifetime.


To this day, LEONOR GREYL remains first and foremost a family affair. Under the direction of Caroline Greyl, daughter of Leonor and Jean-Marie, the brand is present in over 450 hair salons and in over a hundred department stores and specialist shops in 50 countries around the world. Caroline carries the torch of her parents’ vision and drive with her husband, David Thomas Brooks, an American plant biologist. Over the years, he has collaborated with Jean-Marie to pass on his unique know-how in product creation. Today, they continue the family passion with a contemporary attitude and a deep respect for tradition and style.
