Developed by perfumer Matthieu Nardin and inspired by the novel "And the Sun Rises" by Ernest Hemingway, the woody-floral Soufflot evokes memories of an early spring morning walk through the Luxembourg Gardens in Paris, among the flowers, past nearby cafes and flower shops opening with fresh flowers straight from the market.
A gourmand fragrance, Soufflot combines the nutty notes of chestnut and hazelnut with cinnamon leaf and honey, creating a sweet sensation of fresh brioche soaked in coffee, to be enjoyed on a warm Parisian morning. While walking along the Parisian boulevards of Rue Soufflot, the lingering impressions of tobacco absolute and leather linger in the memory, while the white, shimmering flowers of green mandarin and Sambac jasmine seduce with their freshness, breaking through the buttery warmth of the heart.
"When I read a fragment of the text from Ernest Hemingway's "And the Sun Rises", I immediately wanted to translate the olfactory memory that accompanied me during a morning walk in the Luxembourg Gardens in Paris. As the first rays of sunlight caressed the leaves of the chestnut trees decorating the garden paths, their delicate white flowers shimmered like pearls in the soft morning light. I was enchanted by the scent of these flowers, this exquisite blend of floral and nutty sweetness. Tobacco scrolls from nearby cafes, together with the captivating notes of elegant Parisian leather bags wandering through the garden, created the final accent of a colorful, exuberant scent that firmly places this fragrance in the present day"
